Arts Center Museum, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
In this collection, the images are built from the architectonic environment projected on the glass of street showcases and suggest an original narrative: the double exposition of the private and the public in the urban space. From her explorations during city promenades, the artist builds images of a transparent city where the surface of the buildings coexists with the objects in its interior, in such a way that the container and the content can be seen in the same look. From each photograph, a double visual delight is born. The artistic vision of Amanda makes us remember that the city is a labyrinth of reflections where the products exhibited in public spaces awaken private desires. It shows us that the transparent glass of the showcases allows the vision of the interior, while reflecting, at the same time, our external condition, thus acting as a frontier between desire and possession. It makes us think about whether our urban condition makes us imagine private spaces where there are only transparent interiors and whether our facades are just the public surface of our most internal desires.
